Negotiating the Price of the Car
The Internet is not only a great way to buy a car - it can
also help you stay informed.
Take the time to learn.
Don't rush out and buy a car without doing some research.
There are at least two numbers every new car buyer should
be armed with:
The Dealer Invoice
Cost: The price the dealer is charged by the manufacturer.
MSRP: manufacturer's suggested retail price (the sticker
price on the window).
These two prices can vary by thousands.
The invoice cost should be the starting point for your negotiations.
Of course, this works best for cars that aren't at the height
of popularity. The more demand there is for a car, the more
above invoice cost you will need to pay. Research a few different
cars that meet your needs, and keep supply and demand in mind
when you make your purchase decision.
